Deputy Cultural Counsellor of I. R. Iran, New Delhi visited IGNOU

 


In order to get more familiar with the educational processes and exchange of distance learning experiences of India & Iran and to strengthen the educational & cultural relations between the two institutions, Dr. Mahmoud Vaezi, international advisor of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Sciences of Tehran University and Mr. Hojatollah Abedi, Deputy Cultural Counsellor of I. R. Iran- New Delhi has visited the largest Open University of India (IGNOU) in New Delhi and met with university officials on September 12, 2017

Indira Gandhi National Open University IGNOU) is one of the largest universities in the field of telecommunications in Asia, founded in 1985 with the purpose of developing e-learning in Delhi. Currently (2016-2017 academic year), the university has 821,000 students, with 21 undergraduate colleges a network of 67 active centers in different parts of India, along with more than 3,000 Affiliated educational service centers. There are 29 Affiliated centers outside India.


The University offers 227 academic programs with emphasis on socio-economic issues at, graduation, post-Graduate and Ph.D. level.
