Persian language course inaugurated at Iran Culture House, New Delhi


On 8th January 2018, a fresh batch of students of Persian language Certificate course was started at Iran Culture House, New Delhi in the presence of Dr. Ali Dehgahi, the Cultural Counselor of I. R. of Iran- New Delhi, Dr. Ehsanullah Shokrollahi, Director Persian Research Centre, New Delhi along with more than 70 students of Persian Language.


Dr. Shokrollahi in his inaugural speech welcomed the students came from different cultural & linguistic backgrounds to learn the Persian language. He emphasized that students might have different motives to learn the Persian in order to know about Iran as well as its culture or even Persian literature but I believe that an Indian may have a greater aim behind learning Persian which is access to the historical legacy of India.

Dr. Ali Dehgahi has welcomed the students and said that the Indo-Iranian ties were always been outstanding & significant. He added: learning a new language always opens new horizons of culture, Ideology & identity and it is more than just a means of relations. He further said that Iran Culture House is one symbol of Indo-Iranian Relations. He mentioned that Persian language had been the official language for more than 800 years in India. He further added that the references of Medieval India can be traced in Persian language. Thousands of Persian Manuscripts are also available in different libraries of India. The valuable services of Persian Scholars cannot be forgotten.

 

The teachers of this session Mr. Mehdi Baqir Khan and Dr. Aziz Mahdi also shared their experiences of learning of Persian language. Certificates to the pass out students of Level I and II were also presented to the students.
