First Dr. Kalim Asghar welcomed the guests with an explanation of the series of academic meetings of the Persian department, JMI. Thereafter, Mr. Shokrolahi and Dr. Ali Dehgahi presented their views on the topic "Introduction to Persian Manuscriptology ".

Mr. Ehsanullah Shakrollahi, director, Persian Research Centre said: "In the eastern societies, the influence of Western cultures has caused the young people to disconnect from their historical & cultural backgrounds hence, they don"t know too much about their own dignity; so, there is urgent need to learn about old texts to access their delightful past.

Dr. Ali Dehgahi the Cultural Counsellor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India said that: "The invention of the textual line has helped to preserve the educational and cultural heritage of human history. In the religious context, the Prophet of every era presented a miracle to persuade people to believe that these miracles were specific to his age, but the miracle of the Prophet of Islam came from the textual line, writing and holy words. It was a miracle for all times.

He emphasized that the Persian language in various centuries was an important tool for the preservation of Iranian identity and played a very important role in restoring the identity of a great nation.

Referring to India"s role in preserving the Persian language, he said: "Many of the important achievements of humanity also took place in India. In the past, Iranian scholars who traveled to India moved their art to this country. Persian language and script have existed in different parts of India, and Indian thinkers have played a very important role in the revival of Persian scripts & arts.
