27th International Delhi Book Fair has started from January 5, 2019 with the participation of Iranian Publishers

 


The New Delhi International Book Fair is held annually with the participation of Indian and foreign publishers. This year"s book fair is being attended by more than 35 foreign countries and publishers from all over India from January 5 to 13, 2018, and the Sharjah is a special guest for this event.

At the opening ceremony of the 27th International Book Fair of New Delhi, Mr. Javadeker Union Minister of Human Resource & Development, Govt. of India and G.L. Kuwal, Secretary, Blinds Federation of India, and Mr. Baldev Sharma, Director, National Book Trust, writers & Intellectuals were present. Publishers from various European and Asian and American countries such as Canada, China, Egypt, Iran, Britain, etc. are present at this year"s fair. This year, more than 1,350 stalls will showcase their latest scientific and cultural achievements in the form of books, films, CDs, and so on.

In addition, more than 50 cultural programs are being held for visitors, and UNESCO, in collaboration with the United Nations International Film Festival, will feature 45 films from 27 countries to create awareness about the disability. Access to the exhibition is free for people with disabilities and the elderly. There are special ways to facilitate their travel.


From the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iran Cultural Fairs Institute of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Culture House IR Iran in Delhi are participating in this International Book Fair, 2019.

It is worth mentioned that the New Delhi International Book Fair has been continuously held by the National Book Trust, an autonomous institute of the Ministry of Human Resources & Development, Govt. of India from the last 45 years in collaboration with India Trade Promotion Organisation, New Delhi. The exhibition was held in 1972 with 200 publishers and in 2017 with 800 participating publishers. Following the Kolkata Book Fair, the Delhi International Book Fair is the oldest book fair in India.
