3 day International Seminar on "Common Human Values in Sufism and other Religious faiths and thoughts in India" was held in Delhi.


Bedil Foundation in collaboration with the department of Persian, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, Center for Central Asian Studies, the University of Kashmir and International youth Hostel, New Delhi has organized a 3 day International Seminar on "Common Human Values in Sufism and other Religious faiths and thoughts in India" from March 29-31, 2019 whose inaugural ceremony was held in India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi.


In the opening ceremony of this international seminar, Dr. Ali Dehgahi, Cultural Councilor of Iran, New Delhi, Professor Lokesh Chandra, former chairman Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Professor Abdul Khaliq Rasheed from Afghanistan, Professor Qamar Ghafar, former HoD Persian, JMI, New Delhi, Professor Ainul Hassan, Persian Department JNU, Professor Abdul Halim Akhgar, HoD Persian, JMI, Mr. Sirajuddin Qureshi, Mr. Shafi Pandit were present.

Dr. Ali Dehgahi in his speech referred to the ancient history of Indian civilization and the peaceful coexistence of his people and emphasized the influence of Sufism and indigenous Indian schools of thought on each other and said: Islam also entered India as a school of thought, and Sufis, using indigenous ideas, promoted their message of humanity. The most important thing is the influence of Sufism and native schools of India on each other.
