On the occasion of Sadi day, the 71st Anjuman Bedil Dehlavi was held at Iran Culture House, New Delhi

 

The 71st Anjumane Bedil Dehlavi titled as "Precious Contributions of Legendary Sa"di to the Literature", was held at Iran Culture House, New Delhi on April 22, 2019,.


Dr Ali Chageni, Ambassador of I. R. Iran to India, Dr Ali Dehgahi, Cultural Counsellor of I. R. of Iran, New Delhi, Dr. Ehsanullah Shokrallahi, Director, Persian Research Center, Iran Culture House, New Delhi, Professor Sharif Hussein Qasemi and Professor Bilqis Fatma Hussaini, University of Delhi, and number of scholars & students were present in the program.

At the start Dr. Shokrulahi welcomed the audience with the recitation of a few verses from Holy Quran.
Mr. Ali Chegani spoke about Saadi and told that it seems the roots of his art belongs to divine sources as his moral teachings are visibly based on holy Qur"an and hadiths.

Dr. Dehgahi also briefed the history of the formation of the Anjuman Bedil and said that Sa"di is one of those renowned Persian icon who have been popular throughout his life and now also Most probably the works of Saadi, especially Golestan, is most famous book than any other in Iran or even in entire Persian world. Sadi"s fame was from East China to West Asia, and later to rest of the West. Ibne Batuta, on a visit to China, observed that Persian poems were being recited in the remote areas of China.

Professor Sharif Hossein Ghasemi, while recalling the position of Saadi"s works in textbooks from elementary to higher levels in the Indian subcontinent, studied the comparative study of Sa"di and Hafiz"s works and emphasized that the Qawalān, Mystics, and poets of India were influenced by Sa"di.
Professor Bilqis Fatema Husseini said that Saadi is a teacher and a mother to me, and love and beauty are the basic essence of his poetry.


Mrs. Hashemi read a part of the introduction on Golestan Saadi, in which Golestan"s composition and history are mentioned.


At the end, Mrs. Yeganeh Shokrallahi and Prof. Shamim ul Haq Siddiqi have presented a ghazal.
